Science Experiential Learning
The Science Experiential Learning initiative is designed to create augmented and experiential learning experiences for students from Grades V to IX using models covering topics in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. As a part of this, Titan launched three Mobile Science Labs (MSL) in partnership with Agastya International Foundation. The MSLs cover 62 government schools in the Kelamangalam block of Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu. MSL is a catalytic channel that is fun, engaging & interactive and aims to raise awareness about the value of learning among disadvantaged children and science teachers.
Realizing the importance and the success we enjoyed during the first three years, the Company decided to capacitate teachers through a customized week-long train-the-trainer programme designed along with our implementing partner. This endeavour was undertaken with the aspiration that it would go a long way in enhancing the quality of education and the scientific temper amongst teachers and students alike. Over three years, the teacher training programme has covered 932 Science and Mathematics teachers of Government Schools in Krishnagiri district.
After five years of a continuous effort to enhance the quality of education through experiential learning in schools and capacitating all Science and Mathematics teachers in Krishnagiri district, the project moved the focus to Tiruvannamalai district and trained 306 teachers.
