Titan’s Youngest Brand, Taneira Opens Its First Store In Bengaluru
Taneira is the youngest brand from Titan which aims to revive one of the oldest occupations in our country – handloom weaving and the oldest garment, the saree.
The team has travelled the length and breadth of India to bring under one roof the finest collection of handwoven and handcrafted saris: Mugas from Assam, cottons from Chettinad, Tussars from Bhagalpur, Ikats from Gujarat, Andhra and Orissa; Jamdhanis from Bengal, Chikankari work from Lucknow, exotic and classical Banarasi silks; exquisite Kanjeevarams; Heirloom pieces like Patan Patolas and Muslin Jamdhanis to name a few.
Housed in a remodelled villa on 100 ft road Indiranagar, the Taneira flagship store provides an intimate shopping environment that allows for relaxed browsing. With over 3,500 unique pieces across sarees, lehengas, yardages, stoles and dupattas priced from Rs2,000 to Rs2.5 lakh, it offers the convenience of a full-fledged ’Style Studio’ that carries ready-to-wear blouses and customisation cum tailoring services to complete the perfect ensemble.
The first store was inaugurated by Bhaskar Bhat, managing director, Titan Company, on February 25, 2017. Speaking at the opening, Ajoy Chawla, SVP of strategy and business incubation at Titan Company, said, “Titan has been exploring opportunities to expand in lifestyle products which are about self-expression and in underserved or unorganised categories. With Taneira, we will provide our customers with authentic, natural materials, handwoven sarees and more that celebrate Indian craftsmanship, heritage and exclusive designs.”
“Taneira aims to give a differentiated retail experience to its customers, a place where they can touch and feel the purity of the fabric and the craftsmanship. The brand is a testimony to the woman who wears a saree out of choice and believes in the power of transformation and pure ecstasy that a saree brings about when she drapes it,” said Shyamala Ramanan, business head, Titan Company.
