C. K. Venkataraman : Thank you Carla and Karly to be spending time here with me our Dream at Titan company is actually to make Tanishq into a global jewelry brand and we actually believe that the past the makings of that of becoming that and the reason why we got all of you today to talk to you was to get a better sense of how muchTanishq appeals to you in the manner in which we are Dallas and how you feel about a jewelry that is saw and what better things that we should be doing in order to appeal more to the Americans in the Dallas area and in the US engine so that's the purpose of this talk of course if had some direct inputs from you have the counters and in the meetings but this is for the folks back in India for them to get a sense of this whole thing so Carla if you can tell me first what's your reaction to the store
Carla : The store is beautiful I was really drawn in by of course the really flashy beautiful Indian jewelry but I was really surprised at how many simple elegant everyday wear that you had I think you did a great job crossing over and having a great the word like you've differentiated and you have a little bit of everything
C. K. Venkataraman : So did you find the sort of quite a few pieces that you like which you would buy and wear
Carla : Absolutely
C. K. Venkataraman : As opposed to just appreciate from a distance yeah you did find
Carla : I did
C. K. Venkataraman : And what about the story itself the feel of the store
Carla : I am very visual I love the light fixtures I love the the pay color let it's get
C. K. Venkataraman : What would you call it how did you
Karly : Yeah think the the store is beautiful I think you walk in and you feel like it's going to be you expect high end jewelry because of the surroundings I also thought I mean the pieces are artworks really in the back and that sort of draws you in for me personally although I appreciate all of it what I would really wear are the more simple quality pieces which I stand a lot of the earrings from beautiful that I want to put on my wish list for this room already Yes
C. K. Venkataraman : And would there be any kind of suggestions to us from you on expanding the line of jewelry that the appealing to you
Karly : Yeah I mean I don't know that I saw every single case I think for me I wear like a lot of pendants I know crosses are really big I didn't really see a lot of crosses and then loops I mean I'm big with the earrings because it's I'm not a lot of Jackall so to from here up is really what I focus on yeah so yeah probably more more of a variety of simple earring I would probably say where to choose from yeah
C. K. Venkataraman : And is is to you I mean what all does jewelry meet is it is it just fashion accessorization self exp or is it also an investment depending on the price you
Carla : I think a little bit of all of that I think it is self-expression I told you earlier Jo the whole outfit makes me feel pretty right so the jewelry is part of that for me most of what I wear daily is um costly jewelry because I in my line of work I don't want to wear really expensive stuff but in the evenings when I have dinner with my husband I like to put on my you know expensive jewelry and that's but it's all self-expression I think
C. K. Venkataraman : And therefore is there any expectation you have from the value that you invested in that piece from an upgrade point of view in the future like what we told you about what Tanishq offers which is when you buy a piece and a couple of years later when you want to upgrade and the the prevailing price of the gold which is in it and the Diamonds which are in it that you will get the value for that which helps you to upgrade to a more Exquisite piece how familiar or how many people offer this kind of value than US and do you see it as a as a differentiator and a welcome thing I
Karly : I to me that's very appealing I think it is a differentiator in this market I think when I want to buy jewelry I don't really wear I don't really wear costume jewelry the only jewelry that I wear is something that somebody's gifted me something that means something I like to wear real jewelry and I see it as an investment so what I can afford now will hopefully be less than what I can afford in 10 years so the idea of being able to upgrade makes a lot of sense when I think about what I want to buy for jewelry I want to buy classic pieces that I can eventually hand down to my daughters I don't want to be buried with anything and I think I'd rather spend it on jewelry than a $2,500 handbag that is going to depreciate in value as soon as I purchase it
Carla : Yeah
C. K. Venkataraman : And so this kind of a policy would certainly appeal
Carla : Totally appealing I again have don't buy myself expensive stoves or jewelry pieces but I'm definitely going to tell my husband about you know this this company because I think that's huge I think that's a differentiator for sure did you
Karly : Did you hear them say that so this was the part that I really liked is that you can work with somebody build a list right like I got all the pieces that you like and then you send your husband in and then they pull out all the pieces that you've already picked try it on that you love so he has like a right like a variety of price points yeah variety of pieces when you when he does decide to get something right
Carla : I didn't hear that
Karly : I may have made that up suggested but I loved it any
C. K. Venkataraman : Any suggestions that you have for us in our attempts to reach into the American Market anything that we should do quickly in in a prominent way which will make Americans in this area sit up and notice and yeah I want to visit it's anything that comes to mind at all
Carla : I think first and foremost the location is amazing the location is great so I think you're already going to draw a crowd just based off of where you are I'm not a big social media person but I think in today's market you have to be on social media we have to have a present so and I'm sure y'all are that that would just be muchy suggestions
Karly : So it's almost a great place to host events most I mean the jewelry is really artwork right and like again building trust find building those relationships and having events people bring other people a referral network is really what you what you mean right like if I now that I'm familiar with this store if I knew y'all were having an event at night I would invite a few friends to come and check it out and that's you know in in this Market it feels like for me that's how I would feel most comfortable getting introduced with the Jeweley yeah
C. K. Venkataraman : To somebody you know and all that kind
Karly : Yeah
C. K. Venkataraman : Thank you so much for taking the time out on a weekday morning to come here and talking to me subsequently about it
Karly : Thank you
C. K. Venkataraman : And it's it's great that a good part of what we've done is connecting with you very well and we have already you know on the way to make the match Global Brands yes thank you Carla and Karly being with us
